Mumbai Arunachal Bhawan being dismantled
ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The US Roofs Company is reportedly dismantling portion of Arunachal Bhawan, Mumbai which is causing much trouble to cancer patients and students.
In a release, the Arunachal Students Union Mumbai (ASUM) informed that currently the dismantling work is ongoing and it is feared that if timely action is not taken soon, the bhawan may disappear.
The ASUM claimed that they wrote several times to the state government seeking positive action against the Company for encroaching upon the state bhawan for their commercial purpose, but the government is maintaining complete silence and is neglecting the pain of fellow Arunachalees.
"In February this year, the USR Company started the construction by demolishing the emporium and office of the Bhawan. The matter was reported to state government through DRC of Delhi, Kesang Ngurup Damo and Chief Secretary, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. But till today no desirable outcome has been observed despite several appeals. The construction work is still going on inside Arunachal Bhawan despite several talks with the Managing Director of USR Ltd to stop their activity inside the state Bhawan. The patients are barred from the reception area, the entry is from back and the bhawan has totally been sidelined to shadow its existence," stated the ASUM.
The constant default in paying electric bill is also causing huge inconvenience as the Maharashtra State Electrical Board has threatened the cancer patients that power supply to the Bhawan will be cut off. The electric bill of last two months is pending, the Union informed.
The Union said that the silence of the Arunachal Pradesh Government on the issue will hurt the dignity of the state government and leave a negative impact on its citizens across the country.
The Union has appealed to the state government to intervene in the issue and take stringent action against the USR Company for encroaching into the state Bhawan.
It also called on the state government to review the clauses of lease agreement with the USR Ltd and take over the Arunachal Bhawan officially to make it fully functional and establish it under the state administration through the Deputy Resident Commissioner.

ITANAGAR, Jun 29: With the government facing severe criticism from several quarters for extending the retirement age of government employees from 58 to 60, the BJP has come to its rescue.
Clarifying the party's stand on the matter of extension of retirement age of regular state government employees from 58 to 60 years, state BJP President Tapir Gao said, "The matter was under consideration by the government for past many months as one section of the employees were already retiring at the age of 60. As there cannot be two rules for the employees of the same government, the state government was duty bound to extend the retirement age from 58 to 60 for all its employees."
Responding to the hue and cry amongst the youths that with the extension of retirement age job opportunities would be limited, Gao said, "The concern is genuine but not a fact altogether. There would not be complete halt in creation of vacancies thereby curtailing their right to employment for two years."
"There won't be complete blockade on opportunities for employment of educated youths", he added.
The party further clarified that the government has taken a time period of six months

Govt releases fund for pre & post matric scholarship

ITANAGAR, Jun 28: In a major relief to the students' community, the government of
Arunachal on Thursday released rupees twenty eight crore fifty lakhs ten thousand
as payment for 'Pre & Post Matric Scholarship' for the year 2016-
The said scheme is funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
However, due to the delay in release of fund from the Ministry, there has been massive hue and cry, with student communities facing acute problems.
As per sources, the state government took the decision to pay scholarship money in order to mitigate the problems affecting student communities.
"We have taken note of the sufferings of the tribal students of Arunachal and accordingly decided to release money without waiting for the Ministry's fund. When the fund from Ministry of Tribal Affairs is received, the money will be paid back to the state government. We hope the student communities will appreciate the effort of the state government and will cooperate with us," said an official.
The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union had also been taking up the issue rigorously with the state government.
Governor takes part in cleanliness drive at Daporijo

RGUSU calls off admission boycott
ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The Rajiv Gandhi University Students' Union (RGUSU) aborted its proposed boycott of new admissions in the university after coming to an amicable agreement in a meeting with PWD Western Zone Chief Engineer Katung Wahge on Thursday.

CM calls for comprehensive APEDA policy to run power projects
ITANAGAR, Jun 29: Expressing concern over the failure of small and mini hydro projects implemented by the Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA), Chief Minister Pema Khandu has called for comprehensive policy to run the projects successfully after commissioning.
The Chief Minister said this while chairing the general body meeting of the APEDA after a gap of almost 12 years.
The last meeting was held in 2003 under then Chief Minister Gegong Apang.

APPDSU questions creation of DDSE Capital Complex
ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The All Papum Pare District Students' Union (APPDSU) in a communiqué on Thursday questioned the creation of the post of 'DDSE for Capital Complex', allegedly without proper analysis.
It said that the previous state government had created/sanctioned post of DDSE, Capital Complex,along with one post of UDC, two LDCs, one peon and one driver on contingency basis for smooth functioning of the office.
The APPDSU questioned on how these posts, primarily the post of the DDSE, were created in the absence of gazette notification of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for Capital Complex district under the Education Department, adding that it is not recognised by the MHRD, Government of India.
The Union also cited the letters of the Secretary Education of 11th January, 2017 and 23rd January, 2017, according to which, the Union claimed "clearly states that the centrally sponsored schemes, such as SSA, RMSA, MDM, etc cannot be separated from DDSE Yupia to DDSE Capital Complex in the absence of Gazette Notification of Government of Arunachal Pradesh for Capital Complex district"

Alienation forced on NE Indians: APCC

Claiming that Modi's "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas fell vacuum", the APCC said, "The Vikas (development) cannot happen unless the people of the nation are standing united."
Recalling an incident of racial discrimination where the north east Indian hotel employees in Gujrat were kept at a distance during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jingping and also claiming that BJP in its one of the Vision Documents controversially dismissed the identity of entire Northeast Indians as immigrants, APCC spokesperson, Mina Toko alleged that alienation is forced on NE Indians.

Arunachal and Sulabh International to collaborate on clean toilets

Five boxers from Arunachal at advance coaching camp
ITANAGAR, Jun 29: Five boxers from Arunachal Pradesh are currently undergoing 45 days advance boxing training at Aizawl organized by Mizoram Boxing Association, under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India (BFI) since June 19.
This is for the first time BFI has given special focus to North East by organizing a boxing coaching camp in the region; otherwise, such boxing camps were mainly confined to mainland India.
The boxers from Arunachal attending the camp are Teli Amoush and Hikum Haji of SLSA, Tali Taba of GSS RGU, Koje Nayam Tamin of VKV, Vivek Vihar andKaken Hania of GSS Pachin Colony.

Grammar learning handbook released at VKV Sher
KIMIN, Jun 29: A grammar learning handbook compiled and published by the Vivek Kiran Project was released by Kimin Sub Divisional Officer, J Padung at VKV Sher on Thursday.
Vivek Kiran is an educational project launched by Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh Trust and Tata Trusts, Mumbai. The project helps the students studying in different government schools with study materials and conducts training programmes for the teachers. A total of 16 government schools and 26 Anganwadis come under the purview of the project.
As part of the project, so far 20 training programmes have been conducted for the teachers of government schools.

The right to work is basic to life.
In order to bring Disabilities Person in the main stream society, Central government introduced many welfare measures and schemes such as equal opportunities, protection of right and full participation Act 1995, besides making provision to prevent Disabilities people within the limits of their abilities but it observed and analyzed from previous job recruitment process of APPCS and other govt department that Disabilities person are deprived of their right in our state.
In this regard, I would like to know whether Disabilities person have to compete with all other candidate or not even when they have a reserved seat and when there is cut off mark in every Govt service like UPSC, SSC, IIT etc then is there any relaxation mark in state govt service.
Confusing is that disabilities have a reserved seat but non are selected as they are much behind in term of education as compared to other aspirants.
If these process continue then there is very less possibility of disability person to get selected mainly in A grade service. what is the point of having reservation when non of PwD candidates benefit from it?
Under article 16 of constitution of India there is reservation for SCs, STs, OBC and PH in Govt jobs to provide social benefits to weaker section.
The whole point is not just about getting a seat. the point is about effective implementation of reservation policy so that one can get their opportunities. Having disabilities is not the real problem but social and unjust attitude of the system is the real problem.
Therefore, a genuine attempt has to be made to remove any discrimination in reservation policies by integrating disable person in main stream.
so I would appeal to our policy makers, examiners, bureaucracy, parents, Association to please look into the matter as a humanitarian duty.

Students are the victim of alien education system
Dear Editor,
This is with reference to the report, “Ease learning difficulties of tribal students” published in your esteemed daily on June 29. It is apparent that the govt. puts all efforts to streamline the education system with ample amount of schemes and welfare programmes (e.g Smart Class). And the appeal made by our present Education Minister to the NCERT, reflects the understanding and seriousness of our govt. towards the deteriorating education system in the state.
Serving as a Teacher myself, I have realised and understood that the contexts in the elementary textbooks are not always teachable in terms of their relevance and availability in particular region like ours which makes the textbook topics indescribable and hence incomprehensible for the learners/students.
And thus, the students become the ‘victim’ of an alien education system. Therefore,
it is very important to develop contextualized textbooks at the elementary level
for the students of our state and help rebuild the lost pride and self-
The lousy performance of our students this year is the reflection of our educational state and i won’t blame the students for this but the system lacks in many aspects to truly serve the essence of this noble service.
So, the present situation calls for rigorous evaluation and serious approach of the numerous existing educational interventions and its issues, in order to upgrade the terrible condition of our educational landscape.

Through your daily, I do hope my letter draw their kind attention. The written exam for the post of Field Officer (Disaster Management) was conducted on 28th of March by the APPSC, i.e 3 months back but the wait for the result is never ending. Only around 200 candidates appeared the exam.They have released the TIO result which was conducted one month later.
So what is the reason for this delay in declaration of result?
